USA 2008 - 14.04.2008 - 15.04.2008

Morgens früh zum LAX und eingecheckt, dann noch eine Stunde gewartet und los gehts Richtung Atlanta. Dort dann nur knapp 45 Minuten Aufenthalt bis zum Boarding für den Flug nach Stuttgart. Der Pilot hat es offensichtlich sehr eilig, denn obwohl der Rückflug ja ohnehin schon kürzer ist, kommen wir nochmal knapp 45 Minuten zu früh in Stuttgart an, machen dort unsere Zollabfertigung für die technischen Spielzeuge (ganz freiwillig übrigens!) und suchen uns ein Taxi, das uns und unsere vier Koffer plus vier Handgepäckteile nach Hause fährt. Dort angekommen fangen wir erstmal an zu frieren, klar bei 30 °C weniger als in L.A. und holen uns Essen vom nahe gelegenen Chinesen bevor wir (unvernüftig wie wir sind) ins Bett schwanken.

We are back: with overflowing bags full of heads, many gifts and at first only slightly and running. Let's see how long that remains * g *.

DISNEYLAND

The goal of many wishes ;-) Since we are now among thousands of people with weird hats and ears on the head, between the little girls in princess dresses, little boys in the Star Wars fever, parents "have a perfect day "craze and all the Disney characters, Disney stories and lots of Disney food.

And what for us was personally important to Disneyland:

- lots of new sweet and cool clothes
- we are now Disney also Pinheads and proudly wear our ribbons to a dozen pins around her neck
- Indiana Jones is still the best ride!
- the three evening fireworks were beautiful!
- even four days do not have enough for the Magic Kingdom, we must urgently return immediately ;-)

The day is now used for a very long journey: down the Grand Canyon to San Bernardino to Los Angeles .

Overall, we were almost 10 hours on the road and at the end, only vegetables and ready for bed. But because what is waiting for us tomorrow ;-)

our Grand Canyon day. Started

we have in the Village and even went along on the Rim. In the Hopi House (there are sold for 100 years, Indian art and jewelry), I got a beautiful "little thing" of opal and jade gift ... Thank you dear :-). Then we went to the top of the Bright Angel trail and did a few steps down the valley. Now we have something we eventually want to tackle together: the trail down to Colorado and back up. But it still wants the significant preparation. A bit Fitnessstuio tuts because hardly alone. Real mountains to her and were "only" the Alps.

We enjoyed the whole day a lot of views, have a nice picnic and ultimately had also our hotels reclassified: tomorrow goes into a trip back to LA. We will stay in San Bernardino before it goes to Anaheim.

Whether I sign up again before the return flight, I doubt it. But I can not grudge yes :-)

ps: and somehow I must urgently ne new jeans because I lost all the old pants (actually a very positive event). Currently it has my better half but funny to offer me braces grumpf * *. Let's see tomorrow what he has to keep still when we face a huge mall live * EC *

A long journey lies ahead of us down to the Grand Canyon (the Grand Canyon, Zion and Bryce together form the famous staircase). Originally we had thought of having to go through Page. In fact, we have left but the saves, because we have found a new route.

We also arrived early in the Grand Canyon and have at least the Desert View to visit Station. The first look into the canyon takes a breath again and again. Indescribably beautiful.

About Zion Pass we drove to Bryce Canyon and arrived there early in the afternoon. After we had deposited the suitcases in our rooms, we are then moved into the park.

This time really ;-) The last time the state of the snow so high as a man and we turned around after a few meters. So this time's it a real experience. Should I call a current favorite park, it would certainly be of Bryce. Each vantage point, every little trail better than the last. WOW.

the early evening we went back down at Ruby's Inn (one knows when there already was, at Ruby does everything) and wanted to eat out, instead we are just before sunset back to the park and on Sunset Point still some photos taken, made a few meters from the Navajo Trail, and generally enjoyed the moment.

are then we will really have been in the restaurant and have enjoyed perfect steaks. This (I do not remember to have ever eaten a better piece of meat), I can again make some time on Veggie ;-)

We had planned to leave early in the morning Las Vegas , in fact, we've made it until noon on the city limits. But our luggage is again grown considerably. Many many here over the counter little box from the Pharmacy join us now ;-)

Today's route was selected to be short but pleasant, so that we arrived after about three hours a Zion National Park, where the " Traili "have replaced the shuttle . Initially found ego yes rather stupid to not even drive through the park, but should we all have to say that it really super was. Many, many stops in the park, a clock of less than 10 minutes to the nearest shuttle , a good explanation (from tape) and even better by most drivers. Real class, again like that!

Our Lodge was then also very nice and the dinner I find only " Bumbleberry forever!" one :-)

ps: do not even have time for the most minimal image processing. Images are then submitted later from home :-)

Our last day in Vegas and also our "wedding celebration". According wirs have had to address very slowly (help, it was a night before) and are only to MGM again for brunch and order the tickets for the Tom Jones show in the evening to pick up.

Somehow we threw it all much too bright, too loud, and anyway, we need a few more hours of sleep ;-)

evening are we then going to the show and have really great amusement. This time the mood was almost better and also our neighbor at the table (well, almost, two tables next door * g *) was a fascinating man: Tony Curtis. Does not it? Tztztz. Google is :-)

After the show we are down to the Bellagio down (it was Friday night and as one kilometers lasts even loose half an hour encouraging Strip), have played a bit and this time won. At some point (too late) we ended up in bed.

Bottom line:

Las Vegas is our town!

Another Vegas day. He started very late, because the first ended early yesterday morning. We are now in the Venetian, the TI and the Fashion Show Mall In the first two can see a lot in shopping latter is the good.

the early evening was the Tom Jones concert at the MGM Grand and we were curious to see if it really is as good as they told us. In fact, it was better to classes! Two-hour concert with no breaks or lengthy monologues and as the audience already was slow on the weaker side, we went again a half hour about right. It took us so well liked huge. This has two consequences: first

We had to pull in behind a party mood even to the houses (and salute the most brilliant Irish Pub West of Ireland in NewYork NewYork, where the walls shake every evening).

second We have made a very helpful lady at the Bell Desk of the MGM totally busy and get tickets for tomorrow again Tom Jones concert ;-) We have to join again!

But now we go (assuming LH separates from the slots below) sleep for now. Completely ready. Vegas is pretty stressful ;-)

Vegas has us back and that means we have so much to do that we will come to nothing ;-)

So very briefly: we have lots of bought today (also a new suitcase for the return flight) are drawn by various casinos, gambled and have fun gehabt.

Am Abend war die Vorstellung von Zumanity im NewYorkNewYork. Wie erwartet war es eine erstklassige Darbietung gemishct aus Akrobatik, Erotik und Comedy. Zumanity ist eine eindeutige 18+ Show. Das merkt man spätestens daran, dass die Künstler nicht wie auf den Werbebildern im Netz Bodies tragen, sondern tendentiell eher nackt auftreten. Für die USA also schon sehr freizügig, für Vegas fast normal. Uns hat besonders die "Dame im Glas" und die smige Komponente gefallen, weils nicht plakativ und billig war, sondern fühlbar. Also unbedingt empfehlenswert!

Vor der größten Hitze haben wir das Death Valley verlassen (und dennoch die Klimaanlage auf Hochtouren laufen lassen) and drove to Las Vegas. After LH

us a room with the best views in the 27th floor of the hotel concerned has (grin thx for talking to the concierge, I got him to 50 yards distance see * wink *), we again made our first "city beautiful" and even have left the Strip. Wow. A lot has happened in the last three years! Also names have changed, so we are the Planet Hollywood (formerly Aladdin), whose motto is "Shop the Planet" has somehow become our * g * and have eaten there, first in peace. Strange as that sounds, the best seafood and sushi are available in Vegas. Why? No idea ... But the conversion of these foods is just huge here and the quality correspondingly impressive.

After dinner we strolled over to the Bellagio, we have seen a water show and are then to the casino, where we visited the botanical garden and made the game tables are uncertain.

Vegas has us back!

From Fresno, we are now broken up into Death Valley, which initially only means a longer journey, with der nur die letzten Stunden wirklich interessant sind.

Zu unserem Glück hat das Valley sich noch nicht richtig aufgeheizt und wir waren so nur mit knapp 30°C konfrontiert, die sich gut ertragen ließen.

Über den westlichen Parkeinganz sind wir zur Furnace Creek Ranch gefahren, wo wir dann mitten in der Wüste die Nacht verbracht haben. Vorteil: der schönste Sternenhimmel, den ich je gesehen habe. Wir habens also genossen mit einem Corona auf dem Balkon zu sitzen und in den Himmel zu schauen :-)
