When I went on Thursday to Frankenberger station to distribute new petitions, I was very surprised: The facade of the station building was lit in the entrance, seen from the bus station, in orange. At the door hung advertising for drinks, you could buy at the counter. I could not believe my eyes. Through the window of the switch, I could see shelves that were fully loaded with sweets. I was puzzled the nice gentlemen at the counter (I omitted his name), my petition, which he accepted as usual in order to stick to the glass, so that passengers on it and be alerted to sign. I spoke to him on these surprising changes at the station.
He told me that all of his company, which has rented the switch, performed in-house was. Without help from the city or the train.
The kiosk in the front office was set up because many students are waiting in the station for their train, and then of course get an appetite for sweets.
I was pushing the whole very pleased, because finally someone in the upgrading of the station takes hold, even if this is what I have seen is just a small drop in the bucket, because the station and its environment require a thorough rehabilitation. Until then, it is probably still a long way. Nevertheless, I wish the operation of the switch, that its involvement is expected and I hope that finally the city Frankenberg recognizes the potential of the station, which after all for rail passengers, the gateway to the city.
