Nicht nur die Eröffnung der Bahnstrecke nach der Sanierung ist Anlass zum Feiern, sondern auch das 120-jährige Streckenjubiläum der Bahn Frankenberg-Sarnau.
Am Samstag, dem 23.10., werden den Besuchern Fahrten mit dem TEE "Rheingold" angeboten, in dem u.a. Wein verköstigt werden kann. Desweiteren verkehren andere Dampf- und Dieselzüge (z.B. Silberling-Garnituren und Ferkeltaxen) zwischen Frankenberg und Marburg.

Der Sonntag ist ein Aktionstag, an dem an verschiedenen Stationen der Strecke Aktionen auf die Gäste warten. So werden am Frankenberger Bahnhof unter dem Motto "Reisen damals und heute" Filme gezeigt, ein Theaterstück aufgeführt und Ausstellungen angeboten; unter anderem zur Geschichte der Strecke und ein Schienenfahrrad. Mit "echter" Pferdestärke können sich die Besucher in Kutschen sitzend fahren lassen. Die Fahrzeugausstellung präsentiert an beiden Tagen die unterschiedlichsten Zuggarnituren und Loks, wobei auch eine E-Lok zu bestaunen sein wird.
